Oh, boy…
I assume by now you’ve heard the news that the DOJ has seized another 10 (10!) domains pertaining to online poker. It bums me out, guys, and I’m sure it bums all of you out. If it doesn’t, well, you’re probably reading the wrong blog.
At any rate, I am here to deliver a bit of good news. I was recently introduced to the website RubyRoyal.com by a friend of mine, who also happens to write for a poker-dedicated website (It’s sad, I know… not having friends who write for, say, dining reviews and such…). I have been looking to find a new place to play online games in my spare time, as I am growing tired of the usual Vegas Technology games offered by most casinos that still admit US players. That being the case, I tried the site out.
I have to say that the site isn’t bad. The games are ample, and there’s enough variety that I can dabble in other games when I tire of playing Caribbean Stud Poker. I’ve recently gotten hooked on slots, which I always thought were strictly for old women… but that’s neither here nor there.
It’s been a refreshing change of pace, as the site runs Microgaming software. They deliver a pretty similar play experience as what one could expect from Vegas Technology, but I find the visuals to be much better. They’re not going to melt any faces, don’t get me wrong, bu their games are prettier. I would liken it to playing a game on a Super Nintendo, and then suddenly playing something on the Sega Dreamcast.
I also found that, oddly enough (forgive the pun) the odds seemed more favorable at their Caribbean Stud Poker table. I was only at the game for a few hours, but I turned a $25 wager into a pretty impressive $600 without losing much along the way. So there’s that.
At any rate, I wanted to toss this site out to you guys. I know pickings seem pretty slim these days, and if the domain seizures continue they might just get a little worse. Check it out if you’re looking for a new place to play, and take advantage of their 888 Free Bets for 30 Minutes Welcome Bonus.
Have a great (and safe) Memorial Day, guys and dolls!
